When your best friend of 10+ years tells you to post a photograph of her amazing and fascinating cat, Charlie Chaplin, you better do it. Consider the photographs above an ode to the dearest Miss Chaplin and yes, to the other crazy cat in my friend's life. Be they my muse?

I have been taking it easy on blogging, but my schedule is moving very forward. I want to mention the bands I will be working with and the musical events I will be attending over the next couple of weeks, because these musical wonders are fun, talented, creative, and at the core of it, very down-to-earth people. Check out my schedule below for details, and maybe I'll see you at a show?

Friday, October 30th: OTiS playing at NYC's The Mercury Lounge at 10pm, $8 to get in if you wear a costume. The band is funk meets rock meets soul, and they will surely put on a great Halloween Eve show.

Saturday, October 31st: "The Last Masquerade", a night of art, music and mayhem. Countless bands, countless hours: should be an amazing time.

Sunday, November 1st: Portraits of band, Sister Anne, ultra cool and funky rock-soul band with an awesomely feisty lead singer with some major vocal chords on her - their next show is Wednesday, November 11th at the studio room of Webster Hall. More details to come on this.

Saturday, November 14th:The one and only: Peaches, playing at Terminal 5, doors open at 8 pm/show at 9pm, advanced tickets $25. I have been a fan of this woman for as long as I can remember: with very controversial and evocative music, bruised legs and occasional facial hair, this Canadian electro/rock/hip-hop vixen spits on the idealogy of what it means to be a musician and a woman.

It's August 28th, 2009. Will Dailey lights up the stage of a dark and ancient building, where bouncers and bartenders make you wonder what happened to the concept of a smile. Will is the one to bring you back to life with his sparkling eyes and dazzling lyrics, and the hint of an edgier rock set revives you as you as the lights flitter from red to purple to white.

My friends are drunk and giggling in some corner of The Bowery Ballroom, and I'm lit on one gin and tonic spiked with Dailey and his crew. The music makes feel light on my feet and their rock energy of the evening feels different from that of the last performance I attended on 07.28.09 at The Mercury Lounge. I have heard listeners deem this band "generic" and "grade-B pop", but I strongly beg to differ: With the ability to switch genre gears with ease, to be as playful as 5 year-old kids with their music, and with the pure ability to have fun with their performance, I say these guys are grade-A non-generic music makers.

Will Dailey and The Rivals are as vibrant as the filtered strobes that dance all around them on stage. For sure, Dailey is the whip cream smile on a stack of pancakes that you can't eat because you're too hungover. And in a confused world and a messy time, these guys stand out with guitars, drums, voice, song, and a hell of a good amount of noise, to make some serious sense and some clean movement in the right direction. This week was filled with activity, and I am buzzing with energy and creativity. There are projects in the works, new opportunities being presented, and what is most important, is that I am swimming in it all: graciously swimming, with smooth backstrokes, not the attempted butterfly strokes of the 'trying to make the high school swim team' days.

Despite the heat of Upstate NY, I am feeling cool, calm, and for the most part, collected. I guess I could feel overwhelmed with each event that I fill my calendar boxes up with, but really, the excitement of keeping busy with art and photography outweighs the onsent of a panic attack.

What I have been up to: I photographed a newborn for the first time which was an incredibly interesting experience. At only two weeks old, I could swear this baby is going to be the next Kate Moss. Also on my agenda has been weddings, bands, and journalistic work that I will be trying to incorporate into my upcoming art opening on the tentative date of September 25th, 2009.
