Back in October, I had the pleasure of doing a photo shoot for a magazine (while they were being interviewed) with owners of the very cool antique + vintage Brooklyn NY store RePOP. Russell + Carl are just too awesome and there shop shows it. They not only acquire the most amazing finds and have curated the aesthetic of the store in a beautiful way, but they are also artists with their own paintings on the walls + public projects under their belts. I was simply blown away by the space, their personalities, and the overall experience of learning about their store + vision. And as a vintage lover myself, I can't help but plug one of my new favorite vintage shops!

water club nyc wedding of jenny + matt

I am not sure if they come any sweeter than Jenny + Matt! I feel absolutely blessed to have met them and their families and especially to have been able to capture one of the most special days in their lives. Their intimate and incredibly lovely wedding was at The Water Club in New York City and every single detail reflected so beautifully the loving, compassionate, and vibrant personalities of them both. I had not met them before the wedding, but I felt like I already knew them as soon as I saw their photographs sitting outside of the ceremony room -- because their smiles say it all. They are just so in love with each other and just want to share love and joy with everyone around them. Naturally, their ceremony was incredibly tender and heartfelt (they passed the wedding rings around the room on a dainty little white pillow for everyone to bless!), and I was just so glad that I was able to photograph it before my back-up photographer Michael came to take over for me (as I was unfortunately very ill that day). And it really was quite a unique experience for me because everywhere I looked people were looking at me to make sure that I was okay. Everyone was just so incredibly caring and real, and the genuine smiles in all of their photographs show that.

four seasons nyc wedding of katie + ewing

Married back in December, Katie + Ewing had such a sweet and intimate NYC wedding that I was honored to photograph! Everything about their day had quite the old-fashioned feel to it starting with the ceremony in Upper East Side's beautiful Church of St. Thomas More and the reception in an earthy restaurant section of the Four Seasons Hotel fittingly called "The Garden". With lovely white orchids everywhere and light + romantic piano music being played on a grand piano by the very talented David Wynne, love was certainly in the air!

nyc christmas engagement portraits of caroline + jason

Getting to do round two engagement portraits with Caroline + Jason, and in a completely different atmosphere than the first time we worked together, was so much fun! Round one of their portraits took us to Montauk (check out the portraits: http://www.beimagedblog.com/2011/11/montauk-engagement-portraits-of.html) and round two took us to none other than New York City from day to night amidst Christmas + holiday spirit galore. Even though we got kicked out of the NY Public Library (the guards there didn't have the holiday spirit!) before we really even got started, we made the best of the night by going to Grand Central Station and onward and was all a blast!

Congratulations to sweet Caroline + Jason, and happy holidays to all!

I knew from the moment I met AnnMarie and Marc, that they were a more-than-special couple. When they walk into a room with one another they completely light it up with their love and happiness, and my hubby Dave and I could not feel more honored to have been the ones to capture their big day. They held their December wedding in Chappaqua NY at the Kittle House Inn and it could not have been more beautiful with the holiday spirit + joy all around them. From the adorable (+ super delicious) cupcake arrangement to the Christmas tree tucked in the corner to the filled up dance floor and to the just downright amazing couple of the night -- this wedding was unforgettable not only for the friends and family, but for us as well!

bridgehampton ny engagement portraits of lisa + matt

Lisa + Matt are just so awesome and sweet that naturally their engagement portrait session was too! The photo shoot in Bridgehampton was like a dream come true for me from the corn fields to the playground, all with an amazing November blue sky, balloons, sunshine, and their handmade "save the date" sign to boot. They just had fun with it and so did I, and I just couldn't be more excited to capture their wedding day next November!

montauk engagement portraits of caroline + jason

From the moment I began communicating with Caroline through e-mail, I knew that her and Jason were going to be such a fun couple to photograph and to work with -- and of course, I was right. While they live in Georgia, he is currently doing short-term work in New York so she has been flying in to be with him on the weekends -- and what better way to capture the excitement of their engagement then with photographs of them in the state (and specifically the areas: Montauk + Manhattan -- which will be the part two of their portraits) that they have been spending so much time together in and have come to love. It was such a joy being able to explore East Hampton and Montauk with them while being able to capture their happiness through photography at the same time! And boy did we brave some fast and crazy winds that were well worth it in the end!

Such a big congratulations to Caroline + Jason on their engagement, and I am just so excited for the shoot part two in Manhattan!

hoboken nj engagement portraits of shannon + matt

I had such an awesome time shooting Shannon and Matt's engagement portraits in Hoboken a couple of weeks ago. They are such an amazing couple -- just so sweet, fun-loving, and down-to-earth. From the beautiful old-fashioned Hoboken train station to heading over to The Shannon (where they first met!), the city where they had first met and had at one time lived was the perfect backdrop for their love + excitement. And how fitting it is to share their engagement photos on here on Thanksgiving because it feels great to say just how grateful I am to be working with people like them and for being able to do what I love!

Such a big congratulations to Shannon + Matt, and I am just so excited to photograph their wedding next year! And I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving!

Lisa and Brendan are two of the funniest people I have ever met, and they are absolutely the perfect pair. With such an amazing love story to call their own of how they met, fell in love, and became stronger as a couple going through really tough times, you would never think that they would get such a kick out of taking photos with the "love stories suck" graffiti that we found -- but they did and I just love it! Doing their engagement portraits on The High Line and all around the Meatpacking district, Lisa + Brendan were just such fun to spend the afternoon with and to photograph, and I simply cannot wait for their wedding next year!!

Kasia and Tobias live in Vienna, Austria and recently decided to take a trip to NYC {their first trip to America ever}. With their dating anniversary date coming up during the trip, three weeks before they departed for their travels they thought to themselves: why not get married on our anniversary date while we are there? With families and friends spread out throughout Europe, these world travelers decided they would be best able to share the experience of their wedding day with all of their loved ones through photographs of traveling around Manhattan right after marrying. From their wedding day mini-cake shared at Financier Patisserie in the Financial District to their Buddhist Temple prayers to the sun setting in Central Park, I had such a fun time with these two and I could not feel more honored to have been the one to capture their unforgettable day!

A big congratulations to Kasia + Tobias, and I simply cannot wait to see you both again one day!

alger house nyc wedding of sam + jill

When I first met Sam + Jill, it was like I had known them my whole life, and if I were to guess, I would say that everyone who meets them probably feels that way too because they are just that friendly, warm, and fun-loving. They both went to University of Miami but didn't meet until they were both in Manhattan. Pretty amazing, right? With music being a key component of both their lives, it was only fitting that after years of dating, Sam proposed to Jill in a music studio where if I am not mistaken, was where they first met! They dreamt up and brought to life their music-infused wedding at Alger House tucked away on a quiet, little European-like street in Manhattan on October 8th, and it was just filled with so much of their personalities. They had their favorite musician {currently on tour} Gabe Dixon perform during their reception, cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery which was where they had their first date, their University of Miami hand signs up the whole day, their friend {a grown man} in a pink tutu playing the role of ring bearer dancing down the aisle just for laughs, and what better venue for two NYC creative souls than a Manhattan loft-like space filled with an incredible amount of art? The whole day was just adorable, sweet, and fun just like Sam + Jill themselves!

It is hard to find the words to describe the wonderful human beings that are Cassie + Eric because they are just that wonderful! They both light up every room with their smiles and the warmth that they have for absolutely everyone around them is magnetizing. Their Great Gatsby inspired wedding on October 1st was nothing short of magical, starting the day off by seeing each other for the first time in a memory-filled spot near the Brooklyn Bridge, then heading over to their Brooklyn church for their lovely-music-filled ceremony, and then ending the night with a reception at the Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture building {which is amazingly old, awesome, and whimsical in and of itself}. The wedding was completely infused with DIY love + care, and just good old-fashioned love, sense of humor, playfulness and ultimate joy. Everyone had such an amazing time, and naturally, I had an amazing time being able to capture it all!
